Chapter 52 Driven by a Desire for Revenge
Chapter 52 Driven by a Desire for Revenge
Flora wants revenge, and in the Misty Forest, two bandits also want revenge.
That day, with Bone Cleaver sacrificing his life to cover the retreat, Anvil and Skinner were able to escape in disarray. As bandits, they were reluctant to part with the money from their hideout and originally intended to return to their Blackrock City residence to pack their belongings and flee to another city with the money.
As it turned out, Blackrock City's arrest warrant was issued too quickly. They had just prepared to leave the city when they saw a strict check at the city gate. They had to spend a lot of money to bribe officials in order to escape Blackrock City before the warrant was issued.
Thinking they were safe, the two fled to other cities, intending to change their names and start a new life.
As the eldest of the four, Tiezhen was more meticulous, and he inquired as he walked.
He heard from a traveler that Raymond, the head of the Silver Shield family, was lurking at Blackrock Outpost, a crucial point on their route. Anvil and Skinner had no choice but to turn back and take a detour, only to find that wanted posters were also posted at checkpoints in other directions.
The adventurers have now received a bounty; they can earn 100 dou coins simply by taking the heads of the two individuals.
Such a high price would even tempt those second-tier silver adventurers.
The Anvil and Skinners had already encountered several groups of adventurers, and brief clashes had occurred between them. Fortunately, the adventurers were all Tier 1, and they managed to kill a few before escaping.
However, Iron Anvil also discovered a problem: his space for maneuver had been severely compressed, and even if Raymond didn't make a move, those second-tier silver adventurers could still kill him.
With nowhere else to turn, Iron Anvil gritted his teeth and, along with Skinner, plunged into the Misty Forest.
He was originally a bandit turned adventurer, drifting between guilds and monster forces, and was recruited by a dragon shaman in his early years.
Iron Anvil distrusts monsters and fears being tricked into becoming a sacrifice, so it refuses.
Now that his death was imminent, he tried the method left behind by the dragon shaman, and he actually succeeded in secretly making contact.
After learning about the anvil's situation, the dragon shaman sent him to the Misty Forest, where someone would naturally guide him.
With nothing to lose, Iron Anvil and Skinner arrived at the Misty Forest, but instead of finding their guide, they were attacked by a group of goblins.
These goblins were extraordinary and extremely powerful. The two of them, coupled with the ambush, were quickly knocked unconscious.
When Iron Anvil woke up, he was locked in a dark dungeon, which was extremely smelly and full of white bones.
Iron Anvil found his hands and feet bound tightly.
He quickly looked around and found that Peeler was locked in another room, his hands and feet also tightly bound.
The difference is that he was skinned, bruised and swollen, his clothes were stripped off, and his body was covered with bruises and whip marks, with only a tattered cloth to cover him.
Peeling himself up and curled up in the corner, his face filled with despair, he cried out after seeing him wake up:
"Boss, these goblins are all beasts, absolutely all of them!"
"Skinned, what did these goblins do to you?"
Iron Anvil also noticed that something was wrong with the skinning process. He was a master of dual knives, and his attacks were usually fast, accurate, and ruthless.
Before becoming a bandit, Skinner was skilled at skinning sheep and pigs. Even after becoming a superhuman, he didn't abandon this skill, treating monsters and humans alike equally.
This ruthless character is now weeping and wailing.
Upon hearing the anvil's question, Peel instinctively curled up and shook its head in fear.
At this moment, the anvil also realized that a group of goblins had not killed them, but instead stripped them clean and tied them up. What else could they be doing?
Iron Anvil's face turned pale instantly. He quickly touched his buttocks, which were neither painful nor itchy, and were completely unharmed.
At that moment, a dozen ugly goblins entered through the dungeon entrance, making the already cramped dungeon even more crowded, and a strong stench hit them.
"It's over!"
Iron Anvil's expression also turned extremely ugly; he struggled desperately, trying to fight back with his life on the line.
However, the goblins ignored him and instead focused their attention on Skinner in the corner.
The following scene was so bad that the anvil was completely unbearable to watch.
That's too brutal.
He was a strong man, so frightened that his legs trembled and he dared not utter a sound.
For the next week, the goblins would go down into the dungeon twice a day, morning and evening.
Skinner was already on the verge of death from torture, but even so the goblin wouldn't let him go and even tried to revive him.
Anvil noticed that the goblins had absolutely no interest in him, and he began to wonder if it was because he was a rough and tough guy. Skinner, on the other hand, needed to be agile and had a very lean and wiry build, making him look rather delicate and tender in comparison.
While he felt fortunate, he also felt a sense of shared sorrow, having given up hope for his own fate and only wishing for a swift and clean end.
But with his hands and feet bound, he couldn't die, so he inevitably overthought things.
Iron Anvil was filled with regret and wondered why he had suffered such a calamity.
"It's all because of them! That guy from who-knows-where must have been a bodyguard secretly hired by the Silver Shield family. They all deserve to die!"
Iron Anvil gritted his teeth. His plan was going very well; he had already taken down two enemies and was on the verge of success when he encountered the bizarre flying sword.
If it weren't for his brother's broken bones and severed limbs, he would have died long ago. He felt obligated to avenge his brother.
But in his current state, he probably has no chance of revenge.
Several days passed, and Anvil grew increasingly desperate, ceasing to eat and drink the water and food brought by the goblins, seeking only death.
On this day, the goblins came down from outside the dungeon again, but there were only a few of them.
The anvil was puzzled when it saw the goblins all lying prostrate on the ground, trembling.
Outside the cave, in the light, a strange man appeared. He was dressed in a black shaman's robe, his attire was bright and eerie, and he held a white bone staff with a finger bone embedded in it.
"Anvil, my old friend, it's been a long time."
The dragon shaman spoke first, his smile eerily unsettling.
The sound of the anvil was very familiar, and the more he looked at it, the more familiar it seemed.
"Are you Chloe? You've come to rescue me?"
The anvil looked utterly astonished, on the verge of tears.
He was filled with hatred and fear, and struggled frantically, but he couldn't get up from the ground.
Dragon Shaman Kolo pointed to the goblin and said, "Go and untie my old friend."
Upon hearing this, several goblins got up, took out their knives, and helped the anvil cut the rope binding it.
The anvil rose from the cold ground, its heart filled with horror.
"You ordered these goblins to join you!?"
Dragon Shaman Kolo nodded, readily admitting it.
"I initially thought you were an undercover agent sent by Blackrock City to gather information, which is why I had my men tie you up. After more than a week of investigation, I discovered it was all a misunderstanding."
The anvil was filled with hatred and wanted to curse, but remembering that this was Kolo's territory, it swallowed its anger.
He calmed down and asked, "What do you plan to do about us next?"
"These goblins are too stupid. I'm going to promote you to be the goblin leader in the camp. What do you think?"
"How many goblins can I command? How strong are they?"
"There are only about a hundred of them at the moment, and their strength is on average at the first tier."
"Chloe, do you think I can command them?"
Iron Anvil sounded a bit sarcastic. He wasn't stupid; he was only at the peak of the first tier himself. Monsters value strength above all else, so how could he possibly command a hundred first-tier goblins?
Chloe smiled and said, "You don't need to worry about that. I will bring you the blessings of my Lord."
Iron Anvil was startled and asked, "Are you referring to the Dragon's Blessing?"
Chloe shook her head and laughed, "You're not qualified for this kind of blessing yet. Don't worry, it's enough for you to advance to the second tier."
Iron Anvil was slightly uneasy, but he seemed to have no other choice now.
"What do I need to do next?"
Kolo then took out a bottle of bright red potion and said, "Drink it now. After you drink this strength potion, you'll be one of us."
Tiezhen took the potion, but he hesitated. He subconsciously felt that this potion was probably not so simple, and he couldn't bring himself to drink it.
Seeing that he didn't move for a moment, Chloe laughed:
"If you don't want to be one of us, then I'll have to send these goblins to persuade you."
You're a beast!
The anvil tightened at the bottom, and he gritted his teeth, finally making up his mind, and poured the medicine down his throat.
Immediately afterwards, he felt his head was about to explode, the world spun around him, and he collapsed to the ground.
Chloe glanced coldly at the anvil, unimpressed, and said indifferently, "I hope you live, my old friend."
……
Several days have passed.
Iron Anvil finally regained consciousness. He discovered that green scales had grown on his skin, his complexion had turned dark green, his body was extremely hot, and his mind was very agitated.
He looked at his monstrous appearance and then at the respectful goblin before him, his heart filled with complex emotions.
What the hell is this?
At this moment, Kolo reappeared before him. Due to the increase in his strength level, Iron Anvil vaguely sensed his strength, which should be above the third level but no more than the fourth level.
Furthermore, Iron Anvil felt as if he were under some kind of invisible restriction, preventing him from feeling any resistance towards Chloe.
The boundless hatred in his heart had nowhere to be vented at this moment.
"My old friend, congratulations on receiving the Lord's blessing and successfully reaching the second tier. Everything will go smoothly for you until the third tier."
"Stop talking nonsense, what am I going to do now?"
"For now, all you need to do is train your goblins and prepare for the autumn harvest in Blackrock Territory in a little over a month."
"Sure, I want to kill four members of the Silver Shield family then."
Iron Anvil was unaware of the relationship between Lin Er and the other three, so he directly attributed it to Silver Shield's family.
"Don't be impulsive. Our goal is simply to harvest the autumn crops. Don't do anything unnecessary."
"I see."
Iron Anvil gave this answer, but he didn't think so at all.
He's turned into this horrible state; we absolutely must get revenge.
