Anthony, Perséfone, and Estefany proceeded cautiously through the forest. They had to be on high alert, as some plants emitted poisonous smoke while others exploded, releasing corrosive liquid. Even some plants attempted to devour them. The entire forest seemed alive, with trees extending their branches to ensnare them.
Furrowing his brow, Anthony dodged another attack from a toothed plant. Estefany nervously suggested, "I think it would be best to get out of this place." Anthony shook his head and replied, "This place definitely holds some unique items," as he cut down another tree with an ugly expression on its bark.
The tree emitted a harrowing scream as its branches thrashed frantically before finally succumbing.
The surrounding plants, sharing similar biology, began to adhere to the tree and secrete a corrosive liquid that gradually decomposed it. "That was a bit disturbing," commented Perséfone as she watched the plants devour the once-living tree.
"It must be some kind of massive organism," thought Anthony to himself as he observed the strange behavior of the trees. He approached one of the trees that had some fruits and noticed something unusual: the fruits had closed eyes. When the fruits suddenly opened, they revealed a mouth full of sharp teeth. The tree's branches moved and grabbed one of the fruits to eat.
"Kya!" exclaimed Estefany as she witnessed a plant move as if it had legs. The plant's green eyes looked at her indifferently before moving away. Anthony was completely baffled. It was the first time he had seen a plant creature move in such a manner, and moreover, he realized it wasn't corrupted. Hesitating for a moment, he decided to follow the strange being.
Activating his shadow step, Anthony led the girls as they pursued the creature. The living plant grabbed another fruit from the ground and brought it to its mouth, then glanced at the three people with indifference as it continued to eat. The four of them stared for a while, astonished by what they were witnessing.
Finally, the plant spoke in an indifferent voice, "Do you like watching me eat?" Estefany, Perséfone, and Anthony were wide-eyed as they heard the plant speak in the common language.

Finally, they found a relatively safe place to rest. The safest Anthony could find was a space in a tree. The three settled there, and Anthony took out a piece of meat to prepare a small fire. He didn't want to risk setting the entire forest around them on fire.
The next morning, or at least what they believed to be morning, they resumed their journey. They even found some edible fruits along the way. Eventually, they arrived at a different place where Anthony could feel small amounts of mana in the air. "Look," Estefany said, pointing to a small animal: a tiny rat that watched them with its black eyes as it fed on a fruit on the ground.
Other rodents began to emerge from the ground, but Anthony ignored them; they didn't seem dangerous. They finally left that area and encountered an impressive waterfall cascading freely on their sides, forming a cascade. Around it, there was a variety of animals, all drinking from the water. They were strange, some had two heads and many legs. The three stared at them, cautious.
However, in an instant, all the commotion of the forest ceased. An absolute silence enveloped the place. Anthony felt his hairs stand on end and his pupils dilated. Suddenly, all the animals drinking from the water stared at them. A chill ran down Anthony's spine as his danger instinct kicked in.
"Let's go!" Anthony shouted, the animals from the waterfall started running like crazy towards their direction, sweeping everything in their path. Anthony, along with the girls, started to run.
Anthony could feel how the whole forest seemed alive, all the beautiful scenery totally changed, there were no more nice things they had seen before, Anthony extended his senses, his expression becoming cold, he could feel how thousands of creatures were approaching them at full speed.
"Get ready," Anthony warned. There was no escape ahead of them; more creatures were in front of them, they were surrounded.
