Chapter 140 Arcane Heritage
"Sweetie, little Gebu, Uncle will feed you, my darling~"
The elf, while rummaging through his pants, grinned lewdly as he approached Geb.
No! I want it approved!
"I'll eat your big head, you curly-haired devil!" Gebu's face darkened, and he raised his hand to unleash a Thunder Wave!
"Tonitru!"
A deafening roar! The strange uncle was blown three meters away, and the thing he had just pulled out of his crotch flew out. Gebu reacted quickly and caught it in mid-air with his wizard's hand.
It was an etheric crystal, similar in appearance to the one Belle received during the abduction of the Deep Well, but with slight differences in its interior. The etheric energy within this crystal was more restless, as if waiting to be released. Through its hard surface, one could feel waves of warmth emanating from within, like holding the beating heart of some great being in one's hands.
"Oh, I thought it was some strange thing, but it's just ether crystals." Geb said, looking at the crystals. "So this is what you meant by 'help'?"
"Hey—yo—this isn't your average ether crystal, Gebu." The strange uncle got up from the ground, tidied his messy hair (it was hard to tell the difference), snapped his broken finger back into place, and continued nonchalantly. "This is called a [Primordial Ether Crystal], a treasure I specially refined for you. If it were converted into gold, it would probably be worth at least six figures."
"First-pressed? Can something freshly made really be reliable?" Gebu asked doubtfully. "You're pretty stingy, why don't you get me a vintage one?"
"Ether crystals aren't antiques—the older they are, the more valuable they become. Newly formed ether crystals have much more active energy than crystals that have been dormant for a long time. You can think of it like the difference between kerosene and charcoal. Old crystals burn slowly, releasing energy gradually, while new crystals ignite instantly and can produce a fierce flame. You're not here to charge up a magical ritual; you need a powerful burst of magical energy to help you break through to the next level. Naturally, [Initial Fusion] is stronger than [Ancient]."
"That makes some sense—so should I eat it?"
The strange uncle nodded.
Gebu looked at the angular stone in his hand and felt a sudden, phantom pain in his throat.
Seeing the goblin's predicament, the mischievous uncle grinned and pulled a glass bottle from his pocket.
"Rapeseed oil, it helps with lubrication—come on, pour the whole can in—"
"Open your mouth—say it!"
"No—no!!!"
The goblin's muffled screams echoed throughout the meditation world.
"Ugh—ugh—"
OTZ
Gebu knelt on the ground, gagging painfully, a bloody taste in his throat.
The strange uncle clapped his hands, his face full of pride, as if he had just accomplished something remarkable.
"No—no response, are you trying to trick me?" the goblin said in a hoarse voice.
"Your body needs some time to absorb this. Give it some time," the strange uncle replied casually.
"How long will it take? I'm in a hurry to get back."
"three."
"Three what? Three minutes? Three hours? It can't be three days, can it?"
"two."
"What?"

The instant the countdown ended, Gebu's body was suddenly lifted up by a tremendous force, his feet leaving the ground and hovering in mid-air!
"Ooh!! Ooh ooh ooh!" The goblin made a sound like a baboon out of control.
"Here you come—it seems you don't need me anymore, Geb. Before I leave, I'll give you one more hint: The Book of Sand doesn't know the whole truth; it can only repeat information written down by those who came before. You are a goblin chosen by Chaos, and if you want, no rule is unbreakable. Following in the footsteps of those who came before will be much easier, but walking your own path is the only truth in the pursuit of the strongest power."
"Whoa—what did you say?" Goblin was still immersed in the strange feeling of floating in the air and didn't fully understand what the man was saying. As soon as the goblin asked, the strange uncle waved to him, then put his hand into his mouth and, in an extremely bizarre way, crawled into his own mouth—eating himself—and disappeared into the void.
After the strange uncle disappeared, the arcane runes on the ground reappeared, and the magic ring rotated and expanded, and in an instant, a new ring was added outside the original ring.
The two rings rose from the ground and rotated rapidly around Geb, a dazzling display of speed.
"I feel so dizzy!"
Geb tried to slow it down using his magic and rune resonance. But the opposite happened; the more magic he used, the faster the rings spun, until they eventually became indistinguishable phantoms.
As the rings rotated, the runes emitted a deafening vibration, and the ether hissed. Just before the goblin's ears were about to explode, the rings suddenly expanded outward, spreading outward throughout the meditation space, and then quickly tightened, finally becoming two stable, slowly rotating rings that revolved around the goblin.
Six nodes are lit up on the outer ring, with the first one already lit.
The Book of Sand appeared before Geb, and the flowing text revealed:
The Path of a Wizard
A level 2 wizard can cast level 2 spells.
获得2个1环法术位(总共4个),2个2环法术位,通过冥想刷新。
Unlock spells via nodes:
1 first-level spells;
1 ritual spell;
2 first-level spells;
Unlock Arcane Legacy
What is Arcane Heritage? Geb suddenly wondered if this meant choosing to specialize in the spells of a particular school.
He remembered seeing in the Book of Sand that once a wizard reached level 2, they could choose a specialization.
The first half-elf wizard to deliver the book was a specialist in the Evocation school; his magic would not harm his own people.
This is an important decision, Geb thought. Before that, he needs to see which schools of thought are available.
"The Book of Sand, search for schools of arcane traditions."
[Transformation School] [Summoning School] [Evocation School] [Illusion School] [Protection School] [Charm School] [Necromancer School]
Magnubier's buttocks—so many!
"Choosing to specialize in a particular school of thought will grant you the corresponding special abilities, which will be enhanced with each advancement in your cultivation. In addition, those who specialize in a particular school will have significantly increased efficiency when copying scrolls containing the corresponding spells of that school."
"Is it possible to specialize in multiple schools of thought?"
"Specialization: Focusing on mastering a skill." The Book of Sand did not answer the question directly, but instead quoted a dictionary.
Hey! You can even be sarcastic?!
Looking at the eight options in front of him, Gebu fell into deep thought.
Of the spells I know, the ones I use most often are illusion (Silent Illusion), evocation (Burning Hand, Magic Missile), summoning (Oil, Cloud), and protection (Shield).
I haven't had much contact with the schools of change, prophecy, charm, and necromancy. But that doesn't mean they aren't powerful; it's just that I haven't yet encountered advanced spells, and first-level spells don't represent the strength of an entire school.
"Book of Sand, first show me what each school of thought can do after reaching a high level?"
