Chapter 11 Your Name
Chapter 11 Your Name
Lin Yueyin typed the code.
The door opened.
But it only opened a small gap.
Before Li Zhi could react, Lin Yueyin grabbed his hand and pulled him inside.
The door closed behind him.
Li Zhi didn't even know how he got in, but he did it in such a mysterious and cautious way.
This group of people should be capable of great things.
After entering the door, Li Zhi looked up.
Before me was a courtyard, which looked nothing like the small, humble dwelling outside.
It was the dead of winter outside, with the land frozen solid for miles around.
Li Zhi saw bamboo here, its leaves lush and green, and below it, the water was clear, with even a few red carp swimming slowly.
"Now I understand why you called her a fallen phoenix," Li Zhi exclaimed. "How did she manage to maintain this evergreen appearance all year round?"
Lin Yueyin did not answer, because an old woman appeared in front of the two of them.
The old woman's cloudy eyes swept over Lin Yueyin, finally landing on Li Zhi.
"Is it him?"
Lin Yueyin nodded, her voice calm: "Yes, I've brought the person to you. You can talk to each other about the rest."
The old woman shook her head: "No, the Holy Maiden wants to see you."
Lin Yueyin's expression darkened slightly, clearly indicating that she did not want to see this saintess. Li Zhi asked with some interest, "In your opinion, am I more annoying, or is that saintess more annoying?"
"You are all annoying."
After saying that, Lin Yueyin turned around and walked towards the main hall.
"Looks like I won." Li Zhi shook his head and looked at the old woman: "Where am I going?"
"Young master," the old woman said, her voice much gentler towards Li Zhi, "please come with me."
Li Zhi followed the old woman through the courtyard to a side hall.
The side hall wasn't large, but it was decorated very elegantly.
In the center was a rosewood octagonal table with tea sets on it.
There is a grand master's chair on each side.
"Please have a seat, young master," the old woman gestured to the armchair. "Wait a moment, and you can tell me if you need anything."
After Li Zhi sat down in the chair, he made his request:
"I'm a little hungry, thank goodness for the delicious food."
The old woman was taken aback, seemingly not expecting him to make such a request.
But she quickly recovered and flashed a standard smile:
"No problem, what would you like to eat, young master?"
"Anything is fine," Li Zhi said, "but more meat would be better, I'm really a bit hungry."
This is something Li Zhi only realized after he sat down; he had undergone body tempering and marrow cleansing, expelling a large amount of impurities.
I felt refreshed and energetic, but I was also hungry.
Under normal circumstances, Li Zhi should solve this problem by cultivating and absorbing spiritual energy.
However, before he could even begin his cultivation, Lin Yueyin had stolen him here.
Then they should be in charge of the meals; that would be reasonable and proper.
Moreover, Li Zhi wanted to eat something better; the porridge this morning was too bland.
As the old woman nodded in agreement, Li Zhi began to wait.
On the other side, in the main hall of the courtyard.
As soon as Lin Yueyin stepped into the room, darkness enveloped it.
As the light faded, a stone table appeared.
The stone table looks very simple, exuding an ancient and weathered aura.
There are some lines on the table that look messy but give a sense of order.
The darkness that could devour everything seemed powerless against this stone table.
The stone table lit up; the lines on it began to glow.
The light was soft and not glaring.
A halo gradually formed.
A figure appeared within the halo of light.
It can be vaguely seen that it is a woman.
She stood in the halo of light, as if she were in another world.
"Tsukine, you're back," the woman said gently.
Lin Yueyin was somewhat impatient: "I brought him back, you can talk to him yourself, why are you asking me for help?"
Before meeting someone, you should always know who they are.
"Why would a saintess who knows the secrets of heaven need to inquire about such things?" Lin Yueyin scoffed.
The woman in the halo, who was also the Holy Maiden of the Heavenly Sect, didn't care about this attitude and simply shook her head: "After all, I am not omnipotent."
"I still dislike your nonchalant attitude." Lin Yueyin snorted coldly. "If you want to see it, then see it yourself."
As soon as he finished speaking, darkness surged, and then the voices of Li Zhi and Ji Baizhi echoed in the darkness.
The saintess listened in silence, then sighed, "So that's the method. Ji Baizhi is really willing to go all out."
"Method? What method?" Lin Yueyin felt like she was being an idiot again, but she was still curious. Could she really figure it out from the conversation?
"You don't understand?" The saintess's voice carried just the right amount of surprise.
Hearing this infuriated Lin Yueyin. She knew it was intentional, so she didn't reply and turned to leave.
"Alright, still the same old temper." The saintess smiled. "Go tell him we can cooperate."
Lin Yueyin stopped in her tracks, frowning. "We really have to cooperate with Ji Baizhi."
"It's not with Ji Baizhi, it's with him." The Holy Maiden said, somewhat puzzled, "By the way, you keep talking about him. Do you know his name? After all, we're going to cooperate, so we can't keep referring to him as 'him'."
Lin Yueyin fell silent; darkness was silent, but light smiled.
"It seems you dislike him quite a bit, Yueyin, since you brought him here without even asking his name." The Holy Maiden suppressed a smile: "Wait, remember to ask him clearly. If you really don't know how to ask, just say you're helping him create a fake identity. After all, Ji Baizhi's method is still a bit too crude."
"You're all annoying," Lin Yueyin said sarcastically, seemingly trying to turn the tables.
These words piqued the saintess's curiosity: "Oh, Yueyin actually dislikes him that much? What kind of person is he in your eyes?"
"A fool, a rather strange person," Lin Yueyin said. "I used the Domain of No Light to strip him of his five senses, but he wasn't afraid; he was actually savoring the feeling."
"It's alright." The saintess nodded in approval.
Lin Yueyin didn't want to speak anymore, so the darkness receded and the saintess in the halo disappeared.
Everything returned to normal, and the stone table disappeared.
Lin Yueyin pushed open the door and walked out of the main hall, heading towards the side hall.
Li Zhi, who was in the side hall, had just received his dish.
The meal was plentiful, consisting of four dishes and a soup.
Steamed fish, braised lion's head meatballs, stir-fried mutton with scallions, and garlic-flavored greens.
The soup was chicken broth, simmered until thick and white, with a wonderful aroma.
The old woman placed the food on the table and left.
Li Zhigang picked up a piece of fish.
Lin Yueyin stepped into the room, looked at the food on the octagonal table, and raised an eyebrow: "You've started your cultivation, this kind of overeating won't be good for you in the future."
Li Zhi first put the fish in his mouth, savoring its tenderness, before asking, "What's the meaning of this? Do you all not eat grains?"
"Cultivation requires tranquility of mind; eating too much meat will arouse desire."
"Don't worry, I can control myself." Li Zhi continued eating without a care.
Lin Yueyin remained silent; one word of advice was enough. She sat down in another armchair and asked, "What's your name?"
"Hmm?" Li Zhi put down his chopsticks and looked at Lin Yueyin with some confusion.
