Chapter 23 A Ruthless Take on Senior Sister Zhao [Part 1]
Chapter 23 A Ruthless Take on Senior Sister Zhao [Part 1]
The stone gate to the cave was half open.
Li Tianran walked to the door but did not go in immediately.
Zhao Ling had her back to him, her black clothes cinched at the waist, her hips forming a full curve.
She reached for the pottery jar on the upper part of the stone platform, pulled up her black clothes to reveal a small section of her lower back.
Right in the middle of his lower back, a faint red old mark extended up from under his belt.
Li Tianran's gaze lingered on that old mark for a moment.
"Senior Sister Zhao."
Zhao Ling did not turn around.
"Enter."
The voice was very faint, as if he were talking about something insignificant.
She put the earthenware jar down and turned around.
Zhao Ling didn't look at him, but pointed to the corner.
"Starting tomorrow, you will take her to water the sacred field."
Li Tianran looked in the direction she was pointing.
Xiao He stood in the corner.
White hair, black horns, bluish-black skin, and unfocused pupils.
A fully modified four-layered Qi-refining puppet.
The ill-fitting gray robe hung loosely on his body, revealing a section of dark blue collarbone at the collar.
Li Tianran looked into those empty eyes, his fingers tightening slightly.
"Yes."
He turned to leave.
"What's the rush?"
Li Tianran stopped.
Zhao Ling walked to the stone platform and sat down, her waist and hips pressing against the platform to create a full silhouette.
She poured two cups of tea, took a sip from one cup herself, and pushed the other cup in front of him.
The movements are very slow.
Li Tianran didn't touch that cup of tea.
Zhao Ling put down her teacup.
"You won't drink it? Afraid I'll drug you?"
Li Tianran kept his head down.
"I wouldn't dare. I'm just not thirsty."
Zhao Ling's lips curved slightly, but she didn't say anything more.
She picked up his cup of tea and took a sip as well.
Then he opened his mouth.
"I went to your woodshed the day Su Yingxue disappeared."
Li Tianran's fingers tightened inside his sleeve.
"The blanket was wet, and you said it was incontinence? Haha, I believed you at the time."
"Later, Shen Qing was tied up at the door by you, her Taoist robe disheveled, with handprints on her face, but you didn't touch her."
She stood up and walked towards him.
I walked up to him and stood still; I was half a head taller than him.
"A blood slave who hasn't touched a woman who offered herself to him in three years. Either he's truly incontinent and useless, or he's plotting something else."
She extended a finger and touched Li Tianran's chest.
Through the gray robe.
The force of that finger felt like it was trying to stop his heart.
"But you've changed too much lately, you're too useless to do that."
Her fingers didn't move, and her tone was icy.
"Is Su Yingxue here?"
Li Tianran looked up and met her eyes.
There was no fear, only peace.
Zhao Ling's lips curved slightly.
It seems like they find it interesting.
She withdrew her finger, took a half step back, and looked at him with her arms crossed.
"Aren't you afraid of me?"
"I'm not afraid."
Why?
Li Tianran was silent for a moment.
"If Senior Sister wanted to kill me, she wouldn't have waited until today."
Zhao Ling raised an eyebrow.
"You see things quite clearly."
She walked halfway around him, her gaze sweeping from the back of his neck to his ankles: "Did you kill Su Yingxue, or did you hide her?"
"Senior sister already has the answer in her heart."
"I want to hear what you have to say."
Li Tianran raised his eyelids.
"She's in my hands."
Zhao Ling stopped in her tracks.
She stared into his eyes, as if trying to confirm the truth of his words.
A moment later, she chuckled.
"You're just a pseudo-level two Qi Refining Blood Slave,"
She walked up to him, bent down slightly, and looked him in the eye: "What do you have on you?"
Li Tianran did not retreat.
"Can't you guess, senior sister?"
Zhao Ling stared at him for a couple of moments, then straightened up.
"I can't guess, but I'm not in a hurry."
She sat down again, her tone resolute: "You have to tell me tonight, whether you like it or not."
Li Tianran looked at her crossed legs, then raised his gaze again.
"Senior sister called me here today not just to ask about Su Yingxue, right?"
What do you think?
"Senior Sister Zhao is here to test me."
Zhao Ling paused for a moment while holding the teacup.
"What are you testing?"
"Let me test if I can use it."
Zhao Ling didn't say anything.
Li Tianran continued.
"I guess my senior sister is also planning something big and wants to test whether I can use it."
Zhao Ling put down her teacup.
"Your reaction was good."
She stood up and walked up to him.
He asked a question he had never even considered.
"After being a blood slave for three years, you've exhausted your life force. Don't you hate it?"
Li Tianran looked at her fingers.
"hatred."
"Whom do you hate?"
I hate the person who brought me up the mountain.
Zhao Ling's fingers paused on his wrist for a moment, then a satisfied smile appeared on her face.
"Good for you to hate him."
She turned around, her back to Li Tianran.
"You can go now. Tomorrow, take Xiaohe to water the spirit field. Make sure nothing goes wrong."
Li Tianran watched her tall figure from behind.
They didn't leave.
He silently slipped a small porcelain bottle from his sleeve, uncorked it, and tossed it forward.
The drug turned into a fine mist and rushed towards Zhao Ling's back.
Zhao Ling's body swayed slightly.
She turned around abruptly, her brows furrowed, and used her spiritual power to seal her mouth and nose, causing the sleeping potion to only last for half a breath.
His hand was already on the hilt of the knife, and the short sword was drawn an inch from its sheath, its gleam flashing briefly in the firelight.
"You dare?"
Li Tianran's left hand moved at the same time.
He unleashed his full power, charged forward, and pressed directly against Zhao Ling's old injury on his left waist.
Zhao Ling let out a muffled groan.
Her body instinctively bent to the left, her chest bumping into his arm.
Through the thin black clothing, her full breasts appeared distorted from being compressed.
Before she could drop her knife, her cultivation level suddenly surged.
Seventh level of Qi Refining!
Li Tianran's pupils constricted slightly.
Spiritual energy surged from her body.
He was thrown back three steps, his back slamming against the stone wall, his ribs hitting the stone edge, and he gasped in pain.
The teacup on the stone platform was shattered by spiritual energy, and porcelain shards flew everywhere.
Zhao Ling raised an eyebrow and walked over with a cold face, stopping her boots in front of Li Tianran.
The pressure of the seventh level of Qi Refining descended, making his chest feel tight and unable to breathe.
She didn't rush to do anything; instead, she reached out, pinched his chin, and lifted his face.
Her eyes looked down at him coldly:
"You think a sneak attack is ruthless enough? Scratching old wounds and applying medicine is barely acceptable, but you forgot one thing."
Zhao Ling's tone was icy: "That's not how things work in the Demonic Sect. You need to have the strength to launch a sneak attack. Playing like this will only get you played to death sooner or later."
Blood trickled from the corner of Li Tianran's mouth as he looked up at her, feigning surprise: "Senior Sister, I never expected you to be hiding your strength as well."
"Hmph, what do you think?" Zhao Ling replied, slightly distracted.
It was in that very moment.
Li Tianran suddenly grabbed the back of her neck with his left hand, and pulled out a dark purple talisman from his pocket with his right hand, slapping it on her.
"Huh? You!" Zhao Ling's body tensed up abruptly.
She realized what was happening and was about to use her control over Li Tianran, but the talisman had already been applied, and she froze.
She frantically tried to counterattack with her spiritual power, but it was imprisoned and she couldn't mobilize it.
In an instant.
Li Tianran had already broken free from her grasp and pinned her down with his other hand!
"Is this how you play?" he whispered against the back of her neck, "Senior sister."
"What kind of talisman is this?" Zhao Ling asked in surprise, a hint of panic showing on her face.
Her spiritual power erupted once more, causing the patterns on the talisman to writhe violently, and the paper to emit a faint tearing sound.
"Suppress your talisman!"
"It's actually getting a little hard to control?" Li Tianran frowned.
He turned to the entrance of the cave and called out, "Come in quickly!"
A figure rushed in through the entrance of the cave.
It was Shen Qing.
She had already followed Li Tianran's instructions and was waiting nearby.
Shen Qing rushed in just as Zhao Lingli erupted and the talisman tore apart.
"Hold her down together!" Li Tianran shouted in a low voice.
Without hesitation, Shen Qing rammed into Zhao Ling from the side, his shoulder slamming into Zhao Ling's old injury on her left waist.
Zhao Ling's body suddenly swayed to the side.
The old wound had been pressed down by Li Tianran once, and then bumped by Shen Qing again, finally causing a crack to appear in the circulation of spiritual energy.
She knelt down on one knee.
His chest heaved violently, his soaked black clothes clung to his body, and the outline of his bra was clearly visible.
She looked up at Li Tianran with a shocked expression.
"Your seal..." she looked at Shen Qing, "When was it broken?"
Shen Qing merely gave her a cold glance.
Li Tianran also stepped forward and pressed the level 3 talisman firmly again.
The patterns on the talisman paper gradually stabilized.
Zhao Ling's body froze completely.
She knelt on the ground and looked up at him.
"Who exactly are you?"
Li Tianran squatted down to look her in the eye.
"Your people."
He reached out and pinched her chin, lifting her face up.
"Senior Sister Zhao, I'm very curious about your real name."
Zhao Ling was taken aback when she heard this seemingly insignificant question.
Immediately, her consciousness and mouth began to obey Li Tianran.
She mentioned a name that Li Tianran had never heard of before.
Li Tianran released her hand, leaving two red marks on her chin.
"From today onwards, do what you're supposed to do during the day. When Master Han returns, say what you're supposed to say."
He paused for a moment.
"Come find me in the woodshed tonight."
Zhao Ling looked up at him.
Although her body was under control, her eyes still held their own, filled with confusion and panic.
"What do you want to do to me?"
