Chapter 35 Water and Blood
Chapter 35 Water and Blood
The atmosphere froze instantly.
Immediately afterwards, the three of them moved almost simultaneously!
The lean man and the tattooed woman surrounded each other, approaching from the left and right.
In the distance, the sound of hurried footsteps rapidly approached.
Other thugs from the gang are on their way.
Kane's eyes narrowed.
He swung his curved sword horizontally with his left hand, deflecting the tattooed woman's heavy hammer, his arm going numb from the impact.
He slashed back with his right hand, barely managing to parry the lean man's thrust.
But the dagger still grazed his arm, and blood seeped out.
Caught between the two attackers, he retreated repeatedly, his figure appearing to be on the verge of collapse.
"This is a bit troublesome."
Kane pondered to himself, a hint of seriousness flashing in his eyes.
"The key is how to eliminate one person while preventing the other from escaping."
He quickly assessed his opponent.
The lean man was no threat; he was about the same size as the "hyena" we killed before.
But the tattooed woman was Brenda, the chief warrior of the Rusty Hand.
Her strength was astonishing; every time the weapons clashed, Kane's hands would go numb from the impact.
If he hadn't secretly used his immortality to recover, his tiger's mouth would have been torn apart long ago.
"Heavy Strike Mastery!"
Kane made the judgment instantly.
boom!
During the struggle, the shelves were knocked over, the goods were smashed, and wheat grains were scattered all over the ground.
"We can't wait any longer."
Kane had a sudden thought and deliberately created an opening.
His movements were slightly distorted, as if he were exhausted.
Brenda fell for it and swung her hammer down with a whoosh!
The hammerhead brushed against the bottle in the waistband.
Click!
The medicine bottle shattered, and the liquid soaked through my clothes.
Kane groaned in agreement, feigning serious injury.
Brenda sneered, exchanged a glance with her companion, and cautiously approached.
Kane's face showed "pain," and he slowly raised his knife, as if to make a final stand.
But suddenly he threw a bottle of medicine at them!
Brenda swung her hammer and smashed the medicine bottle, splattering liquid everywhere.
Learning from the handsome man's experience, the two quickly retreated.
In that instant, Kane turned and charged toward the group of thugs who had just arrived!
"not good!"
The two men paled and gave chase at full speed, but it was too late.
Kane charged into the thugs like an arrow released from a bow, instantly unleashing a bloodbath.
Screams rose and fell, and severed limbs flew everywhere.
His methods of killing were clean, efficient, and without any hesitation.
Many of the thugs were so terrified by the scene that they scattered and fled.
Brenda watched with eyes wide with rage, and chased after him with all her might.
However, she wasn't very agile.
They could only watch helplessly as Kane's figure flashed between the shelves and disappeared.
"asshole!"
She roared angrily.
The lean man frowned; he was faster and could only catch up with him a step ahead.
He must stop Kane from continuing to slaughter his men as soon as possible.
But he was still a step too slow.
He watched helplessly as Kane killed the last henchman, his blood splattering all over him.
Kane stood beside the corpse, slowly turned around, and looked at him.
"You...despicable!"
The lean man's eyes were filled with resentment.
Kane, however, didn't seem to care at all.
If I fall into their hands, my fate will be a hundred times worse.
"Now."
Kane revealed a grim smile.
"We're back to one-on-one."
The lean man felt a pang of fear as he recalled his former companions.
But when he heard footsteps in the distance, he calmed himself down.
"I'll hold you off! When Brenda gets here, I'll shatter your bones inch by inch!"
Kane smiled, his body suddenly shifted, and he swung his scimitar fiercely!
The lean man immediately parried with his dagger.
But as soon as they touched it, a chilling coldness emanated from their blood-stained palms!
This made him pause in his movements!
In that fleeting, electrifying moment!
A short sword on the ground suddenly and silently pierced his back.
The man sneered, turned to the side, and swung his throwing knife to knock down the short sword.
Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of Kane's mocking gaze.
"not good!"
Alarm bells rang in his mind.
Pfft—!
The next moment, he felt a sharp pain in his foot as he stepped on a dagger that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere!
The blade pierced through the boot and embedded itself in the sole of the foot!
A piercing pain struck! He couldn't help but crouch down to support his body.
Kane looked down at him and spoke calmly:
"Now do you know how confident I am?"
"Damn it!!"
The lean man's eyes were bloodshot, but he was already unable to stand.
Bang bang bang!
Amidst the loud crash of the shelves being pushed over, Brenda charged forward furiously.
But what she saw was her companion's feet nailed to the ground, reaching out to her in despair.
And the enemy, with a swift movement, brought down his blade.
The next moment, blood splattered everywhere!
The man's throat was slit, he convulsed and collapsed to the ground, dying with his eyes wide open.
"Aaaaaah!!"
Brenda went completely mad.
His men suffered heavy casualties; three of the organization's four professionals were killed by the same person!
She charged at Kane like a raging lioness!
She smashed into the shelves along the way, causing them to collapse with a loud crash, and goods flew everywhere, creating a terrifying scene!
Kane frowned, surprised.
He had assumed that the leader of the Rust Hands would see the situation was turning against him and choose to flee.
Unexpectedly, the other party became so angry that they directly confronted them.
Without hesitation, he swung his knife to meet the attack!
clang!
The scimitar and the heavy one-handed hammer collided heavily once again!
boom!
This time, the result was completely different!
Kane's scimitar was knocked away! His hand split open, and blood flowed freely!
Brenda caught up and, enraged, rammed into him!
Kane felt an irresistible force coming from his chest!
"Snap!"
A clear cracking sound rang out.
His sternum caved in instantly, and he flew backward like a kite with a broken string.
He crashed heavily into the pile of shelves behind him!
Boom!
The shelf collapsed with a crash, burying him and sending dust flying everywhere.
Brenda was panting heavily, her chest heaving violently.
The look of vengeful satisfaction that had just appeared on her face suddenly came to her senses!
"Damn it! We haven't even interrogated him about the whereabouts of the Flying Squirrel Merchant Guild's fortune yet!"
Thinking of the heavy losses and the unfinished mission, she frowned, her face showing resentment.
Whoosh! A blade of light cleaved through the dust, aimed straight for his face!
"He's still alive?!"
The tattooed woman was shocked and furious, and raised her hand, which was adorned with metal brass knuckles, to block the attack.
The scimitar was knocked away again, and the dust gradually settled.
Kane slowly rose from the ruins.
His clothes were already tattered and torn, and he was covered in dust and dirt, looking extremely disheveled.
But what made Brenda's pupils shrink sharply was...
His sunken chest is visibly recovering!
Kane moved his arms and straightened several dislocated bones back into place on his own.
At the same time, two daggers flew up from behind him and landed in his hands.
"A monster..."
The tattooed woman's eyes widened, her voice trembling slightly.
The enemy before her was beyond her comprehension.
Kane sighed softly.
He didn't want to reveal his immortality, but the woman's power in her rage far exceeded his expectations.
"but,"
He watched as the woman's eyes shifted from fear to a look of frenzied hatred.
He spoke slowly, his voice icy.
"Now that you know my secret, you'll have to stay here."
……
Rows of shelves collapsed, the sounds of metal clashing and roaring mingling together.
They collided and swayed violently within this enclosed space.
Two figures stood facing each other.
Brenda's chest heaved violently, and sweat dripped from her chin.
She looked at the monster before her, her eyes revealing an uncontrollable despair.
She couldn't remember how many times she had inflicted fatal wounds on him.
But each time, the other party could recover quickly.
The granulation tissue writhed, the sunken chest cavity swelled up again, and the splattered blood flowed back...
On the other hand, she herself was covered in fine scratches all over her body.
Fresh blood kept seeping from the wounds, and some wounds were covered with abnormal frost.
"That's enough... let's stop here!"
Brenda suppressed her hatred and forced out the words through gritted teeth.
"All the wealth accumulated by the Rusty Hand can be given to you."
She paused, trying to make her tone more sincere:
"I can even...work for you."
Kane merely tilted his head slightly, a disturbing smile on his face.
He asked softly in return:
"Do you think I'd let you leave after things have come to this?"
"Why not!"
Brenda forced a weak twitch at the corner of her mouth.
"My strength is greater than yours!"
"Your weird tricks can only cause me these insignificant superficial injuries at best!"
"If you're worried about retaliation, I swear on the River Styx that I'll leave this war city immediately..."
She felt resentful.
I've already decided that as soon as I leave, I'll tell that important person about Kane being an undead monster.
This news will definitely earn you far more than a few thousand gold coins!
"Yeah?"
Kane's smile seemed to widen further as he calmly asked:
"Do you really think those are just...minor scratches?"
"What?"
Brenda was taken aback.
Looking at his calm and composed expression, as if he had everything under control.
A chill instantly ran down her spine!
She suddenly realized that those seemingly harmless small wounds were deliberately left by the other party.
The next moment, Kane softly uttered a few syllables:
"Water manipulation technique".
Whoosh!
Brenda froze, feeling the blood at her wound boil.
Then it suddenly burst out of the wound!
Brenda felt her body temperature drop rapidly and her body weaken quickly.
He fell straight backward and crashed heavily into a pool of blood.
Kane stared indifferently at the corpse on the ground, his thoughts already drifting far away.
"I see…"
He muttered to himself, a glimmer of understanding flashing in his eyes.
"I see... This is the correct way to use water manipulation techniques."
"Controlling the bodily fluids of other organisms requires many wounds..."
"But what if I were manipulating my own blood..."
He lowered his head, lost in thought.
