Marked By Destiny: Claimed By Three Alpha Brothers

Chapter 196: Full truth of the past

Chapter 196: Full truth of the past

"Why am I being called back?" Delia asked for the hundredth time, her frustration boiling over at Caleb, who offered nothing but silence. "Just answer me. It won’t cost you anything," she pleaded."Stay quiet," Caleb instructed curtly, keeping his focus fixed on the driving. "You’ll find out once we arrive at our destination," he added.

Delia finally fell silent, waiting impatiently for the car to stop. She looked out the window and recognized the distinctive entrance to a grand estate. Her brow furrowed as she realized they were entering Calandrino Estate. Why here? she wondered. Did Leia forgive her? No, that was impossible; Leia had fiercely confronted her just hours earlier about her betrayal.

Finally, the car halted at the foyer of the grand mansion.

"Get off," Caleb instructed. Delia removed her seatbelt and stepped out, while Caleb exited from his side. "Let’s go in," he commanded.

Delia followed his lead. They were shortly standing in the immense living room. Her feet halted abruptly as she spotted Leia and a formidable group of men waiting for her. Her eyes immediately darted to Grayson, whose face was set in a grim expression. Seeing him immediately ignited her deep-seated hatred; in her mind, regardless of the circumstances, he was the man who had killed her mother.

Leia rose gracefully to her feet and walked over to Delia, her expression thoughtful. "Do you want to take some rest?" she asked gently.

"Huh?" Delia exclaimed, startled by the unexpected concern. "Why are you asking me to rest suddenly? Did you forgive me? I have hurt you and my grandmother—" She was interrupted midsentence by Leia.

"I thought about it thoroughly," Leia interjected, her tone turning serious. "I don’t think the betrayal came from your grandmother. Did you forget what you told me?" Leia narrowed her eyes slightly. "You told your grandmother about me after I confided in you what I am."

Delia nodded slowly, confirming the timeline. "Yes, I told my grandmother about you right after you told me that you were the last pure-blood she-wolf," she confirmed.

At this confirmation, Leia’s uncle, Renzo, immediately stood up from his seat, clearly agitated. "Dear, let’s not believe this witch entirely," he advised Leia sternly. "She tried to kill you! Don’t forget that act of outright malice."

"And I told you that I regret my actions," Delia said. "Leia, I know believing in me is going to be tough for you, but I considered you my enemy right after my grandmother told me what-what your father did."

"But she knew my brother, that is something shocking," Renzo remarked with suspicion.

"Well, she must have found out after doing her own research," Leia said, acknowledging the chain of events. "Delia’s grandmother never hurt me or my mother before that. Delia only leaked my information to others after her grandmother told her the truth about my mother’s actions."

"Yes. My grandmother fell sick then because of her old age," Delia added. "And I executed my plan later, to sell Leia’s information to the people of her kind. I am the victim too. I became an orphan too after my mother died. All I had left in my mind was revenge. Will you people not do the same if your loved ones are killed? I didn’t know what my mother did in the past or why she did it, because I was never told that crucial part."

"Leia, what do you wish to do now?" Kieran asked, stepping closer to her. He walked to her side and wrapped his arm securely around her lower back, offering support and marking his territory.

Renzo frowned deeply to see that sight, even knowing the man was dangerous. But then, he remembered they were true mates. His niece was safe with Kieran.

"Delia, can you help me find out what exactly happened, the full truth of the past?" Leia made a strange, unexpected request, looking directly at the powerless witch.

"You can’t ask a witch for her help! Are you seriously going to trust a witch, Leia?" Renzo questioned immediately, his gaze worried and disbelieving.

"I don’t have any powers left, Leia," Delia stated, shaking her head. "I lost them all after using the dark ritual. I genuinely can’t help you, even if I wanted to." She paused, then added bitterly, "Besides, no one trusts me anyway."

"Let’s see each other tomorrow," Leia said, giving herself time to process. Then, she turned her head to look at Lucien. "Could you keep her in a safe place until then? Not in the prison."

"Alright," Lucien agreed, respecting Leia’s request.

"Gosh! Leia, don’t do this. Don’t trust a witch," Renzo pleaded, still highly skeptical.

Grayson intervened and said, "Renzo, let her take the decision. They both were friends once. If I hadn’t killed Delia’s mother, they would not have become enemies. Delia wouldn’t have been pushed to betray her friend." He reminded his brother of the tragic history that fueled the conflict.

Renzo simply rolled his eyes, shaking his head in disagreement.

"Do you truly want to believe in me, Leia? I did wrong to you. Until the very end, I kept deceiving you," Delia stated, looking directly into Leia’s eyes, unwilling to sugarcoat her actions.

"That’s why I need a full day to give you my final decision, whether I want to trust you or not," Leia explained, her expression remaining reserved but thoughtful.

Lucien left his seat and glanced at Caleb. "Take Delia to the house, where she was kept earlier. Keep the tight security too," he instructed his beta.

Caleb nodded and asked Delia to follow her outside.

She hummed and glanced at Leia before leaving with Caleb.

"Niece, you’re naive. You can’t trust Delia," Renzo told her.

"Uncle, I’m not trusting her. I-I haven’t made my decision yet, so just calm down," Leia asserted. Then, she thanked the three of her mates for listening to her and go along with her.

Renzo rolled his eyes and returned to his brother’s side. "Why don’t you tell your daughter to kick out Delia from her life?" His voice was low so that Leia wouldn’t hear it.

"Let her decide, Renzo," Grayson again stated, glancing at his daughter.
